Resonance - Bronze Feathers South Perth Foreshore. 2016

Public Art

Title: Resonance Date: 2016 Artist/s: Amanda Shelsher

Location: South Perth Esplanade and Mends Street River Walls

Description: Three bronze feathers, height 1.5m, 1.75 m, 1.85 m etched along the spines. River shells and epoxy resin at the terrazzo base .

Artist Statement: “Sitting on a site once overwhelmed with black swans in the 1600s, “Resonance” pays respect and tribute to its new location with its century old changing landscape. Three sculptural, bonze feathers are symbolic of the abundant bird life that once stood on these shores and more deeply, speaks of the spirits of people past, present and future. The spine of each feather has historical anecdotal quotes etched into the bronzes.”
